YOURS TRULY: INTRODUCING – THE TYPES OF POSTS FOUND IN THIS CATEGORY

I find vintage shop owners often have that love of all things vintage pumping through their veins.
Whether it’s their personal closet or jewelry box, the things they hang on their walls,
or their favorite song or movie – it all has that vintage vibe.
It’s certainly the case for me and any posts I do about “yours truly” will also have that vibe.

– Personal Style –

Here you’ll find posts where I’ll swing open my own closet doors
(or rather, pull back the lace curtains since my house has no closets),
to share some of my favorite pieces to wear, as well as the accessories that go with them.

– Throwback –

I just love looking back on old photos. I think it would be a blast to share some of those precious
old family pics of Nana on her wedding day or 5 year old me in that stripey 70’s jumper.
Not to mention my prom picture from 1989 or some of my more imaginative college day looks.
(Hmmm, I’ll have to think about that one.) It would also be great fun to share with you some memories
of my brick and mortar shop, The Rag and Bone. What a journey that was!

– Miscellaneous Musings –

No long winded ramblings here, just a quip now and then about some new discovery,
a curious thought, or a small reflection. Perhaps I’ll remark on a few of my favorite things
or my latest obsession. See! I’ll even keep this little paragraph short! 🙂

Congratulations Shelley on your new blog! As your mother I may be bias, but this endeavor is one more illustration of your creativity and awe-inspiring passion for the world of vintage. From the first day you announced that you were opening your own vintage shop (using your piano as collateral for a loan) we knew you would succeed. Throughout these past years we have watched you grow and flourish — both in your knowledge of vintage clothing and accessories, and in your confidence and skill within the business world. Your love for all that is vintage and your determination to succeed, have laid the framework for this awesome digital window into your life and life’s work. Love Mom

Aw, thanks Mom! You’ve always been my biggest cheerleader and there to support me from the very beginning. Starting with rolling up your sleeves to help me clean up an old basement and turn it into a great space for my first shop. Always grateful for your unwavering belief in me. Love you!
